Muirella Park in Kakadu National Park, Northern Territory Australia*

Getting to Muirella Park Camping Area

In the dry season, mostly from mid April, one can access Djarradjin Billabong at Muirella Park Campground in Kakadu National Park in a conventional 2 wheel drive vehicle, RV, camper, motorhome or coach. It's a sealed road and only 20 minutes from the hotel (International standard) accommodation at Jabiru (North) or Cooinda (South).

Driving south from Jabiru, travel some 25km down the Kakadu Highway, turn left and drive 6km to the campground, really just follow the signs.

Muirella Park Camping Area (with toilets, showers, caravan sites + additional fee for camping) also has boat ramp access to Anbangbang Billabong and 4WD access to Sandy Billabong camping area further up the track (about 12-13 km).

About Muirella Park - (check wet season access)

Showers, toilets and generator zone. Camping fees (adults only) are collected on site during the dry season. please pay at the Bowali Visitor Centre during the wet season.

Kakadu Culture Camp is situated right next to Muirella Park Campground.

Bush Camping Area - (dry seasononly, 4WD recommended)

A free camping area with basic toilet facilities is available beyond Muirella Park at Sandy Billabong.

Kakadu Culture Camp

Kakadu Culture Camp is situated right next to Muirella Park Campground so you can bring your own tent or caravan if you wish. The camp has flushing toilets, solar hot showers and lights, large washing tubs, excellent drinking water, garbage is collected daily, and the billabong (150m from campground) has a public boat ramp. The camping fees are from A$5.40pp/night. The camp has an on-site manager, Johnny Reid from Kakadu Culture Camp, a Kakadu Traditional Aboriginal Owner from the Jim Jim area.

*Please note that there is no generator zone or powered sites available.
